dutchmasters
world in chaos (deluxe) [2019]
i started writing and recording what would become the first dutchmasters songs in september 2018 amidst a mental breakdown of sorts. by winter, it grew into some half-baked grotesque experiment in emo and electronic music among other things, sort of jokingly named about cigarillos. this first album is very rough around the edges but it is indeed the foundation this all is built on, warped as it may be.
smiling, laughing [2019]
these songs came together quite quickly after the recording process for "world in chaos". they are a little less rough around the edges than their predecessors. took more influence from hip-hop and sample-based music with these. it shows its age but its probably the best pound for pound representation of Classique Dutchmasters
world in chaos ii (complete) [2021]
well this one is kinda a weird outlier. it's more or less the scraps of what was supposed to be a concept album about the last summer before the end of the world before that whole concept got overwhelming to me and then for some reason i felt super compelled to construct an album from some of its remains and some new ingredients in the lead up to the second anniversary of the first "world in chaos". it's also an outlier because it sounds absolutely nothing like any other dutchmasters album at all. i think i thought i was being subversive or something. i also originally only released the mix i recorded from an old dying tape deck because well why not?
dutchmasters 4ever [2023]
DM4EVR was written and recorded through the first half-ish of 2021 after the original version of "world in chaos ii" had been thoroughly given up on. it was intended to be released that same year as a farewell to dutchmasters as i began a new project (fedtodeath - or eventually, blanklymeow) with a more cohesive theme. this Kind Of happened except i didn't drop the dutchmasters album because it didn't feel complete yet and the blanklymeow project just sort of started. eventually after doing no additional work on it, i decided the project was done in time for new year's day 2023 as what i thought was the penultimate dutchmasters album. to me, this is the point where the modern dutchmasters sound and identity begins to take shape.
substation, my home. melancholy, my bride. [2024]
honestly i don't even know how long i thought this might be the last dutchmasters album, seeing as i started working on a follow-up before this was even released lmao. but yeah, this one came together like a fever dream. the name and a vague tracklist structure appeared to me one day late in the spring or early in the summer and i spent the rest of 2023 at work. this is the point where dutchmasters became dutchmasters more or less, suspciously coinciding with points in time where i learned (perhaps marginally) more about music production and also my self.
split? (w/ Suburban Apathy, exciting!!excellent!! and gammaGIRL [2024]
this was lyn's idea shout out lyn. my contribution to this is one of my absolute favorite songs i ever made for dutchmasters. i love writing cute songs and i guess i kind of avoid it here given the nature of this project, so when i do go for it i like to give it my best shot. also the other artists on this split killed it, please support them as well!
stares back [2024]
one song from "world in chaos" and one song from "smiling, laughing" redone after five years. don't ask me how an emo project lasts five years. it's not through sheer will and determination, it's because of something infinitely worse.
well's run dry & the shit stopped stickin' [2024]
i don't know. why would i try to rip my throat out once i've only just heard my voice?
like gangbusters into heavenfold [2025]
demo tape for the next album.
lofi catgirls stole my identity and tanked my credit score (w/ Salem's Corydalis) [2025]
i don't know what it is about splits that compel me to make my best songs. the power of friendship maybe.
